use | 2,2-dimethylglutaric anhydride is an organic intermediate. it is reported in the literature that 2,2-dimethylglutaric anhydride can be used to prepare a high molecular weight aliphatic polyester. |
Preparation | 2,2-dimethylglutaric anhydride can be obtained by reacting with a condensing agent from 2,2-dimethylglutaric acid as raw material. 2, 2-dimethylglutaric acid (3.00g,18.7 mmol) was added to a dichloromethane (360 mL) solution of EDCI(3.95g,20.6 mmol) and triethylamine (2.87 mL,20.6 mmol) and the reaction mixture was stirred for 18 h at room temperature. The solution was washed with saturated NaHCO3 aqueous solution (2 × 100mL) and water (1 × 100mL). The organic layer is dried by anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filtered and concentrated. The crude product was purified by rapid silica chromatography using ethyl acetate and hexane (30 ∶ 70) as eluents to give a white solid (1.88g,71%). |
